Meet the Team
Emil has been practicing accounting for 20 years, originally beginning his career in Sweden and eventually moving to L.A. In this time he has grown to understand his clients needs in the law firm industry very well. Emil knew when he started his practice that the law firm industry was missing something after seeing how many billable hours his clients were losing. Emil strives to ensure he not only offers the best services for his clients but that he can help navigate them in their journey to grow and offer solid metrics and advice to help guide them. Emil is a board member and CFO of Swedish American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles and for the Mentor Foundation (USA). Outside of work, Emil enjoys spending time with his wife Narineh, and two children, William and Henry. Emil really enjoys following and watching soccer as well as visiting his native Sweden.
Ninelya Davoudi is the Lead Accountant at Counsel CPAs. She has been with the firm since 2014. She started right after high school as a receptionist and since then, she became our Lead Accountant, passed all 4 CPA exams and became a licensed CPA in California. As a Lead Accountant, Ninelya manages the team work load, makes sure tasks are done accurately and timely, and trains team members on all things having to do with law firm accounting and management. She loves keeping a great relationship with all our clients and makes sure all clients are satisfied with our services. When Ninelya is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, MILO, traveling to new places with her boyfriend and experiencing diverse restaurants and cuisines. She is our go to person when needing restaurant and travel recommendations!
Matt comes with over 7 years of experience and completed his undergraduate at UCR while acquiring his Masters in Accountancy at UCI. He has worked his way up from tax associate to tax manager at some of the well known accounting firms. Matt loves spending time with his family and when he has time to spare he enjoys working out at the gym and playing video games.
Mark is a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years of experience in public accounting, taxation, and government service. He earned his Master of Science in Accounting with distinction from California State University, Northridge, and holds dual master’s degrees. At Counsel CPAs, he supports law firms and their owners with accounting, tax, and advisory services, always with a focus on efficiency and clarity. Outside of work, Mark enjoys soccer, photography, and travel, and is an avid road-trip enthusiast who has driven across the U.S. and explored more than 20 states by road.
Nathalie's work adventure in the world of numbers started at a bank, which sparked her interest in accounting and taxes when she moved to the United States. Nathalie joined Counsel CPAs two years ago and since then she has gained invaluable knowledge from her colleagues, who are always enthusiastic about sharing their expertise. Now, she's diving deeper into accounting to better support her law firm's clients and became an Enrolled Agent. Beyond the office, Nathalie finds joy in cooking, baking, and cherishing moments with her loved ones.
Nicole attended Robinson College of Business where she received her Master of Professional Accountancy. She began her career in tax at one of the Big Four firms, where she advanced to the role of senior consultant. She later transitioned into general ledger accounting, a move that allowed her to discover her true passion. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time in nature—hiking, swimming at the beach, and traveling to new places. A recent transplant to Los Angeles, she’s having fun exploring the city, trying new restaurants, and making new friends.

Jack attended Woodbury University in Burbank and began his career as an audit intern at a mid-sized public accounting firm. Jack comes with over four years of accounting experience across tax, audit, and financial reporting. He enjoys implementing and improving accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency. A fun fact about Jack— he loves traveling and exploring new countries with his wife. He has visited various new countries in the past couple years.

Miros started at Counsel as an intern and quickly worked his way up to Accountant, learning extensive financial analysis experience, great bookkeeping skills, and strategic financial management. Miros enjoys the opportunity to contribute and understand what it takes to bring law firms to the next level. Beyond numbers, Miros loves exploring other cultures through travel and seeking new adventures and experiences worldwide. He also values spending time with friends and family, whether it's exploring local cuisines or simply enjoying meaningful conversations.

Brienne attended Grand Canyon University where she obtained her master’s degree in accounting as well as a bachelor’s in finance! Her law firm career began in 2019 with a small CPA firm in AZ. She advanced to working with a Big Four Firm as a controller in their law firm department. Having many years’ experience helping small and medium size law firms grow, her true passion is for helping law firms become successful! Outside of work Brienne enjoys time with her family. With her kids being active in many sports her time is spent on baseball fields, football fields, at volleyball games, and dance competitions!

Connie has joined our tax team and comes with over 4 years of hands-on experience in tax preparation and tax compliance. She also has a strong background in reviewing financial statements and documents. Connie completed her MBA degree and has passed all 4 CPA exams and is on the way to obtaining her CPA license. Outside of the office, Connie loves spending time with family and friends. Cooking is her passion and form of meditation. She enjoys exploring different styles of food and loves adding new kitchen gadgets to her kitchen!
Ro joined Counsel CPAs in 2022 and quickly appreciated the growth mindset of the business. As Operations Manager Ro tackles everything from HR, IT, Reporting, Marketing and so much more. Ro's favorite part of the job is finding solutions to complex issues and being able to help her team and their clients. Outside of the office Ro enjoys spending time with her family and pets (cats & dogs), reading fiction and thriller novels, exploring the outdoors, travelling, and family game nights. Ro also has a deep passion for cooking which she gets from her family.
Desirée Wilde is our Client Relationship Manager and also our resident snack queen. She is a Southern California native and has been with the firm since 2016. As Client Relationship Manager, Desirée plays a crucial roll in developing and maintaining connection with our clients. In addition to client relations, Desirée also does Accounts Payable/Receivable for Counsel CPAs, as well as keeps the office stocked with all the snacks! Outside of the office, Desirée loves travel, photography, painting, playing the guitar, and spending time with family.
